This section for migrants comes under the Skilled Stream of the Migration Program. Australia is looking for young skilled people to quickly enter the Australian work force. Applicants are selected by a Points Test.

If you plan to migrate to Australia under the Skilled Migrant - Australian Link section, you will need to have a close relative already living in Australia to sponsor you and you provide assurance. Your sponsor must already be an Australian citizen or a legal resident.

If you are migrating with a spouse or partner, the principal migrant (the family member with the best score in the points test) is the one who must have the relative in Australia.

Australian Visas is offering a very low-cost test to help you do a self-assessment for this permanent visa. Entry under this section is complicated by the by points system and family relationships. Your application papers will cost AUD$10, the application will cost AUD$1075, in addition to that there may be qualification assessment fees and English Language tuition fees. Much of this will be lost if your application is unsuccessful.
