OK, sorry for the break in the usual storyline/plot thing, but this week I'm running a BDO retrospective (as indicated by the..er...title). Why? Well, why the hell not? I love BDO day...I really do. For any foreign (non-Australian) guests to the comic, Big Day Out is an annual music festival that crawls across our country at the start of the year, featuring many great local and international bands. You can get all your BDO information here. Is this comic funny or not, though? I just had to put in the sombrero dude and concert fairy as archetypes of festival-going costumers, mainly because these tend to annoy me the most. The fairies annoy me because I can't believe they would subject themselves to a day of trying to get through the festival without destroying their wings. Have you ever gone into a moshpit with fairy wings? It's no picnic. The sombrero guys annoy me the most though, because frankly, I'm a short girl. When some guy who's already tall enough as it is puts on this hat, it means supreme view obstruction. So please, don't do it. Think of the small people.

Just to let you know, I'm not up on my pedestal here, and definitely not immune to criticism...this is what I wore to this year's BDO. I mutilated an old pair of pants (as seen in the cartoon above) to be there and looked like a complete fool, with a space gun at my side. It was great. :)

So anyway, my brother was in hospital on the weekend for a minor operation and I drew this comic on photoshop as a tribute to my visiting him there. Trust me, if you know me, it's probably funny. I draw things using just photoshop from time to time. A few can be found on my LiveJournal, if you really want to look there. From now on, I might post the good ones on here.
