23 January 2004

Wow...I can't believe it’s been just about a whole month since my last update…and a whole new year, too. As a person close to me said, as we crossed the threshold: “2004 sounds ok to me”. And it does, doesn’t it? Anyway, the trip away was fantastic, tentatively titled the ‘Passing Time Tour 03/04’ (subtitled “falling over in new places”), which gives an idea of how our time over in Sydney and Melbourne was spent. We laughed! We cried! We drank! We danced! We met old and new friends! We walked….and walked…and walked! We took (no joke) around 450 photos! Yes, it was great. And yes, photos will probably be posted on a page of their own very soon…so you can, you know, laugh at us. But I’m glad to be back, I really am. I was missing the stable, sunny skylines of Perth, my dogs, family, friends and bed (in that order?).

I wrote a lot and drew a lot while I was away, so expect results, dammit. Also, the “I Am Swiss Crane” project is coming along nicely…with recent plans of the ‘Swiss Crane’ team to secure their own domination by starting a collaborative artistic/design venture. Hurrah!

I also want to say a HUGE DIRTY MOFO congratulations to my sister Emma, who after chewing our ears off with her anthrop learnings last year, has been accepted into Medicine for 2004! Hurrah! Now she can do what she likes best (but now in a legal capacity): cut up bodies. I fear for her patients, I really do. But nono, I joke. It’s great…she worked her ass off for it and she’s done it. Congrats Emm, you deserved it. And boy, did we celebrate! (No really…did we? I have trouble remembering that night….)

Big Day Out is soon…so very, very soon. Every day Emm and I look at each other and say “[insert number] days until Muse!!”

I forgot to vote in the Hottest 100 this year…I left it to the last minute and by then it was too late. Sorry…I’m a horrible person. I’ll kick myself if something awful comes into the top 20, which inevitably, it will.

And look! ----> TWC is back in action! Dont forget to cast a vote my way, ok?
