Well I have been involved with Drag Racing for over 10 yrs now. I work at our local Drag Racing Strip in Perth Western Australia, the Ravenswood Track. I do the time cards for the racers. That tells them all they need to know and how to set up their car. I sit in the Tower looking out a window watching the cars come through the hole and put in their race numbers and dial ins into the computer. It is a good job, not one you do for money only love. Drag Racing in my view is the best motorsport. Sure I enjoy other forms but Drag Racing is never boring you always have something happening every 4 seconds. We have some really great racers in Australia. So keep an eye out for them and have a look at some of our Australian links.

I enjoy watching the guys work on a car, prepare the car and go racing. I appreciate it takes alot of time and money to get on top of these beasts. You wonder why I call them beasts .. when you are racing in the Top Field section these cars sometimes have a mind of their own and it is the drivers ability to get them under control. Some times even the driver can not get that car back. Look at the lifts of Don Garlits. It just shows the power of them. Since my fellow and I have been to the States and followed the Safety Safari around to three meetings, Denver (what a great track to visit but not great for racing it is the air there) then to Sonoma and Seattle. It was a great 6 weeks and I loved all the people we met. Just sorry we had to leave. I still keep in contact with them and some have even ventured onto this wonderful thing called the internet. Good on ya guys and gals.

Now John Force He has been my idol for many many years as over here in Australia we are not privleged like you all are over in the states to get all the races on Television so we had to wait till it came out on Diamoned P's Drag Racing. After watching John Force and seeing his action movement and the way he talks I just thought he was the best. Then again alot of the racers have a great attitude to the sport and they are just great. When we went and met alot of the racers I found them all to have time for the spectators which I just thought was really a great thing. My other long time hero of course because he is a FORD driver is Bob Glidden. At least when we were there we stood in a que to get Bobs Signature and he was so good to us took some wonderful pictures with him. One good guy. Sorry to see that he is not in the sport now!
