Ann was born in Corton, Wiltshire (according to the 1851 census). She married Philip North on 28 November 1836 in Durnford, Wiltshire.

They had ten children, George, Frederick, Edward Jasper (also known as Joseph), Elizabeth Anne, Harry (also known as Henry), Albert James, William, one set of twins (Lucy and Lewis) and Emma Charlotte. Their children became cattle dealers, butchers, and bakers.
