South Australian Company to provided passage for emigrants to South Australia. The ship left England on 7 July 1855 with 428 emigrants (122 men, 214 women, 41 boys and 51 girls under the age of 14 years), overseen by Surgeon Superintendent J. Baird. On the 13th October 1855, after a voyage of 98 days and the deaths of 4 girls, the ship arrived at Port Adelaide.

Helen was 12 years old when she arrived in South Australia with her parents and siblings and lived there for 1 1/2 years before moving to Sydney, NSW.

At the time of her death, Helen and her husband, George, lived at 227 Parramatta Road, Leichhardt. Helen died of asthma on 4th November 1896. She is buried in the old Presbyterian section of Rookwood Cemetery, Sydney, with her husband, George, and daughter, Elizabeth.

Helen's parents were Robert Hill and Elizabeth Emery (also know as Elisabeth Imrie). They were married at the High Church, Paisley, Renfrew Scotland on 23 July 1837 and lived at 27 Canal Street, Paisley. Robert was a weaver and both he and Elizabeth were possibly born in Northern Ireland.

George and Helen had seven children: John, Albert Henry, George, Elizabeth Ellen, Adeline Louisa, George Robert and Lily Ruby.
