and its connections to the processors, a side effect of heating and cooling of
the motherboard. Throughout its lifetime this causes the lead-free solder connections
between the board and BGA components (processors) to crack. This problem is in no way related
to the user , it is a manufacturing fault from the factory. Fixing a Xbox 360
fault of this requires a reflow of the affected BGA components paying careful attention to critical BGA
profiles and the tight temperature tolerances of BGA reflowing. For the

reflows. This is opposed to backyard modders who use dangerous techniques such
as the heatgun or the towel fix which either don't last, do not get hot enough
to ensure a proper reflow (the Xbox 3 red lights comes back a few days after), or damage other components on the board.

Xbox 360 Slim Repair
Despite being just over 12 months old the new Slim is failing
now in large numbers. The most common problem we are seeing seems to stemming
from the DVD-ROM with broken tray issues resulting from even a slight knock. The
S is also plagued with laser issues requiring a laser replacement. The Xbox 360
S Red Dot of Death has for the most part affected very few units. That being
