July Workshop':
Finally we have managed to compile the July 2006 weekend
Tango workshop with Peter Waller and Lisa de Lazzari from Club de Tango in
Sydney. There are many interesting footages from the weekend, including some of
the steps and advice received during the workshop as well as Peter and Lisa's
performance at the memorable Milonga night. The Tango workshop CD is now
available for members for a period

Tango & Salsa Party:
Come
and join the next Tango & Salsa Party here in Launceston on 27th

January 2007 from 8PM onwards. This combined Tango and Salsa party
is open to the public and everyone with a particular interest in
practicing their Salsa and Tango moves is most welcomed. Come and join us and be ready to have lots of fun

New Year's Eve Milonga:
This event will
take place at the Tango Hall in Burnie from 31 December 8pm until
well into the New Year.
A relaxed
BYO-everything night for all tangueros & tangueras from everywhere.
If your usual
tango-venue is closed, why not come to NW Tasmania for the holidays?
The NW Tango Club
can also assist
you with very basic accommodation a 10 minute walk away from Tango
Hall, but please
let them know
in advance if
you intend to come. If you prefer more comfort, book into Weller's
Inn next door: phone (03) 6431 1088 or any other accommodation in
town.
There is a good
selection of music, but you are welcome to bring along your
favourite tangos, milongas and valses.

Get ready to Tango
this summer:
A total of four free Tango Workshops will be held at the Queen
Victoria Museum from 6 to 7PM on 11; 12; 15 & 17 of January 2007 as
part of the Tasmanian Creative Arts Summer School to be held from 10
to 19 January 2007. The summer school is a new initiative of the
University of Tasmania, in partnership with the Queen Victoria
Museum and Art Gallery , TAFE and the Launceston City Council. A
diverse range of creative arts workshops will be held at the Academy
of the Arts and other locations around Launceston. Also, get ready
for the 'Tango & Tapas Night' on 18 January 2007 at Blue Cafe in
Inveresk. Superb food, Tango and live music! For more information or

the Cambalache Tango Club (CTC) we value perseverance, natural

New Tango Movie
'Tango or Death':
'Tango or Death' is a new documentary which was recently completed
by RedCreek Productions in Argentina. This new film will be released
in different languages (including English) in September 2006. The
film is a portray of the
Orquesta Tipica Fernandez,
the most exciting new tango orchestra in decades, and was filmed in
Argentina, Uruguay, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Holland and
Germany. We will be screening this movie at the
NYE Milonga in Burnie on 31 December
2006 at 6PM.

Practices: As from January 2007, we'll be having regular Tango Practices (free of charge) at the City Park Rotunda (Monkey's Park)
on Wednesdays only from 1:00 to 2:30 (lunch time). Everyone is welcomed to
enjoy the music & dance in this beautiful place within the hearth of Launceston.
