House Rules
Character Generation
Every aspect of a character is rolled. Sex, Race, Place of origin and Father's occupation are all determined on dice rolls. Ability scores are rolled on 4d6 minus the lowest but rolls are in order - Str, Dex, Con, Int, Wis, Cha. The Place of origin roll is based on a census of all locations in the Ghelspad manual.
A character must spend 2 skill points on something related to their Father's occupation and is allowed to move one ability score point from one ability to another representing the pursuit of an interest during the time they were growing up. Racial adjustments to ability scores function according to the Scarred Lands DM Screen Companion.
Experience Points
The standard rate at which experience points are earned has been reduced to 20% of that documented in DnD 3.0. Additional experience points are awarded per session and per adventure as follows:
Roleplaying - At the conclusion of each session, players vote for the player they feel has roleplayed the best. Votes are tallied, with the winner receiving 20XP per current experience level of their character. Second place receives 15XP per experience level and so on. Players cannot vote for themselves.
Ideas - In the same way as roleplaying, a player vote is taken at the conclusion of each session with experience being awarded in the same way.
Completion Bonus - At the conclusion of an adventure, if the player characters have managed to achieve the objectives, they receive 20XP per current experience level.
