After a break of a few weeks, I met up with my companions and the Sailor's inn. After weeks of eating that horrible fish stew, it was a pleasant change when Idina offered up some fish steaks. It was not as nice to hear as if they had had something else other than fish on the menu but it was a nice change.
Suddenly a number of the other patrons started to sweat blood! Viktor quickly told us that this was a case of blood fever. We examined the fish and discovered that it was in fact tainted. Viktor and Fatso quickly went off to get the Paladins and Cleric's while Aravin handled the sick and kept other patron's out of the inn.
After some questioning, Idina told us that she bought the fish off some disreputable men, not the cities fish monitors who ensure that fish is not tainted. We quickly tracked down the men at to a small building near the docks. Aravin and Fatso went in the front door while Viktor and I went round back. We quickly took care of the rogues. We interrogated one of the survivors, who told us that he was a member of the reapers and that their assassins would take care of us for what we had done. Great, I thought to myself, I already owe them a favour, I really doubt that they will be happy about this. Viktor used one of his animated zombies to throw the rest of the tainted fish back into the sea. The survivor also told us that he bought the fish off two captains, Darken Stormbrave of the Blue Oyster and Zebenov Tradewind, the captain of the Waverider.
The captains told us that the reason they sold the tainted fish is that the blood sea had been leaking more blood of late, as if the crevice had widened lately and more of the titan's blood had been leaking into the sea. With the help of many people through out the city, we eventually worked out that we would have to sink a number of boats over the place where the blood was leaking.
With funds from the city, we purchased a number of old ships. With a little help from Barconius, we managed to commandeer the Vigilant, which is the largest military ship the city. We sailed out into the blood sea for a full day, with all of us getting terribly sea sick. We eventually made it to spot where the ships were to be sunk. Just after we had fired a volley of ballista bolts into the first ship, a volley of harpoons came speeding out of the sea. The harpoons were coated in some kind of poison. Attached to the harpoons were some kind of rope. The poison on the harpoon paralysed both Fatso and Aravin and the creatures, that the crew identified as Piceans, started dragging them towards the sea. I was also hit but even though I was feeling extremely sea sick I managed to cut myself free. Viktor and I freed Aravin, while the captain Volaris Raimer and his first mate, started battling with another of the creatures that was some type of spell caster.
The captain first magical bolts exploded in a ball of fire around the black skinned creature. The creature responded with a bolt of fire before it was taken down by another fireball bolt. We sank the other three ships before returning to sure.
After what seemed like a very long 48 hours, we finally made it back to solid land. After spending most the trip quite sea sick, I was quite happy to have my legs back on dry land.
