Coco-Flash

A prototype flash cartridge for the Coco family of computers.

Features:

• Jumper to enable 16KB or 32KB of cartridge memory
• Option for 27C256/512 (32/64KB) EPROM or 29F040 4Mbit (512KB) Flash device
• Flash device programmable from Coco
• Dipswitch selects up to 4x 16KB banks or 2x 32KB banks in EPROM/Flash
• Dipswitch enables/disables auto-start
• Power LED

STATUS: PCBs for 6 prototypes have arrived.

• ROM-option board - Design fully tested and working.

• Flash-option board - Not viable due to a design flaw.

Coco-Flash-2

A flash-based multi-cartridge for the Coco family of computers.

Features:

• Options for 1/2/4 MBytes of flash memory
• Software selection of up to 256x 16KB or 128x 32KB cartridge images
• Software selection of 16/32KB image
• Hardware-selectable disable of auto-start
• Flash device programmable from Coco
• Power LED
• Cartridge reset button (re-selects bank 0, 16KB image and system-wide reset)

STATUS: Will be doing another run of updated PCB with fixes soon!

The good news: can read/write CPLD registers, put into stealth mode.

The bad news: (1) Reset button footprint is wrong. (2) LDO VR footprint is wrong.
