PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

In celebration of 2011, the 10th anniversary of the UN "International Year of Volunteers",

Monash Volunteer Resource Centre is inviting residents, or those who work and students who study in the City of Monash to submit and enter photographs that celebrate the remarkable things that volunteers participate in.

Finalists entries will be displayed in the Ramp Gallery of the Monash Gallery of Art, located at Jell's Rd, Wheelers Hill 3150, from 7th December 2011 until 22nd January 2012. Entries close November 4, 2011.

Hello everyone,

My name is Patricia Lauria and I have received a very warm welcome from the staff, volunteers and committee of management of MVRC. I can see already from my limited time here that the centre does vital and much appreciated work for people in the Monash community.

My past experience has been in management for community organisations, including Ross House Association, Eastern Community Legal Centre and CommunityInformationDiamondValley.

My interest is in working for small community organisations that work with volunteers to deliver services and organisations that are managed by local people. MVRC is certainly both of these things!

There will no doubt be new opportunities for MVRC in the future and I look forward to working with the team here to continue developing the service.
