The Senior Citizens Register is a joint initiative of the City of Monash, Monash Volunteer Resource Centre, Mt Waverley and Glen Waverley Police and aims to assist senior members of the community feel safe.

The program is designed to enhance the confidence and safety of Senior Citizens by offering friendly contact, assistance, advice and referral. Hopefully it will provide comfort and peace of mind knowing that someone is caring for their wellbeing.
It is important that senior citizens of the community are reassured that they are not likely to be victims of crime. On occasions, many senior citizens feel vulnerable for various reasons including frailty, isolation, loneliness and ill health. The Senior Citizens Register aims to reduce these perceptions.
If you are an elderly person living in your own home and you want to be in this program, you can fill in the Notice of Interest or contact MVRC on 9562 0414.
On receiving your application to become a member MVRC staff will visit you and give you advice on security around the home. After this initial visit, volunteers will keep in touch with you by telephone every 6 weeks.
