Driver - Community Services
o Tasks: To drive consumers to and from appointments and if necessary wait for consumer when he/she attends appointment. To assist the consumer to and from the vehicle and provide assistance with bags etc, frames, wheelchairs. To complete and return transport contribution forms & money.
o Age Requirement: 45+
o Qualifications/Skills Required: Current Drivers. Licence Police Check required.
o Training/Supervision Provided: Introduction to Volunteering Training.Other specific training such as lifting etc
o Length of Commitment Required: 6 months & ongoing
o Personal Attributes: Caring and empathetic nature
o Comments: Use your own car or agency vehicle
Information - Volunteer Interviewer - Community Services
o Tasks: Be responsible for initial interviews for potential volunteers, both telephone and face to face. Be aware of client's well-being and confidentiality, make them feel comfortable and safe while being interviewed. Consult with the CEO when the client's needs are complex
o Time Required: 1 day per week during office hour
o Age Requirement: 30+
o Qualifications/Skills Required: Good communication skills. Be able to work as part of a team. Respect client's privacy and confidentiality at all times. Police check required.
o Training/Supervision Provided: Complete training as provided by MVRC
o Length of Commitment Required: Ongoing
Driver - Small Group Volunteer - Aged Care
o Tasks: Confirm and arrange transport for participants. Provide supportive and and encouraging environment for social interaction. Transport participants from and to their homes using your own car. Be aware of changing needs of participants, noting changes in address, use of walking aids, and health.
o Age Requirement: 45+
o Qualifications/Skills Required: Good communication skills, together with a caring and empathetic nature. Police check required.
o Training/Supervision Provided: Introduction to Volunteer Training. Various workshops are available throughout the year.
o Length of Commitment Required: 6 months
o Personal Attributes: Caring and empathetic nature. Comprehensive Insurance essential.
o Comments: Volunteers will be able to attend regular meetings to discuss any concerns or issues they may have in their voluntary position.
