APEX CREEK - PAGE 9

We discovered Apex Creek when we were looking for a place to "bush camp" the night before we went into Lennard Gorge.  It was a real little gem.   Off the road, with a beautiful little creek, covered in water lilies.  The only drawback was the flies..... there were millions of them.   We didn't know when we pitched the tent that this spot was used by large tour groups and one party came into the area but drove off when they saw it was occupied.

Boab trees alongside the road coming out of Lennards Gorge. Road leading out of Mornington, near the junction with the Gibb River Road.  The Boab trees are prolific in this region.
Apex Creek, just a hundred metres off the Gibb River Road, no phone, no electricity but there is running water which doubles as a swimming pool. Apex Creek campsite.

A rather spectacular gum tree (Eucalypt) at the Apex Creek campsite.

One of the magnificent gum trees (Eucalypts) which are to be found all over Australia.  This was a particularly lovely specimen with a pure white trunk.
