LEE had for a number of years been sexton at Douglas Church, and was a sober, well-conducted and respectable man. He came into the city on Thursday for the purpose of obtaining money from the City Treasurer towards the repair of a road or other public work in which he was engaged. The money he did not get, and was proceeding home-wards in the evening, when, " meeting a friend"the never-failing introduction to evil in Irelandthey went into a public house in Barrack-street, and there drank until one, at least, was intoxicated. They then parted, and nothing further was heard of LEE until his body was discovered yesterday morning near the eastern edge of the Loch. The water, where it lay, was not more than two and-a-half feet in depth. so that the unfortunate man probably staggered in and was suffocated. In one of his pockets there was about £20, which he is supposed to have brought from home in the morning. The verdict of the Jury was."Found Drowned." LEE has left a wife and thirteen children. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| LEP-CS | 1829 | 2 | 10 | NPS | K__ | F | Gross OutrageA Brunswicker of the name F. K____, living in Ennis, happened, on Friday last, we understand, to see the Limerick Evening Post and Clare Sentinel on the table of a respectable Hotel, in this city, (Limerick) when, finding the coast clear, he tore it to pieces, and the threw it into the fire; but the outrage was discovered before he left the house, and he was instantly obliged to come to our Office for a Paper to replace it, which he was glad to do to avoid exposure. Such low hostility we despise so much so, that we have no objection to his renewing his attack seven-fold every post on the same terms. We only notice the affair to shew the low stuff these Brunswickers are made of. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| LGA | 1815 | 9 | 19 | NPS | KEAN | P | Mr | An English gentleman of the name KEAN was assassinated on Wednesday last, on the Boulevard de Coblentz, near Rue Tarthout, by one of those ferocious brigands lately arrived in Paris from the army of the Loire. The French officer accused Mr KEAN of having trodden on his feet, which the latter positively denied. High words then ensued, when the Frenchman drew a dagger from his cane, and gave Mr. KEAN a mortal stab in the side. He expired the next day. After Mr. KEAN fell the French officer quietly retired taking under his arm one of the fair cyprians who frequent this Boulevard, and has not since been heard of. Not one of the French journalists, to their great shame be it spoken, have dared to notice this horrid assassination, though attended with circumstances of a the most aggravating nature London Pilot We regret to state that the Gentleman above alluded to, is Mr. P KEAN of Bruff, in this county.
