| LGA | 1820 | 4 | 21 | NPS | MACGUIRE | An affair of honor took place on monday morning, at the Green of Clonraod, co. Clare, between two butchers, stout able young men, MACGUIRE & CONNELLY---in consequence of their being men of science in the fistic art, they did not go unaccompanied to the ground, as nearly five thousand persons attended. Much fun was expected, but after two most dreadful rounds, the police, who are every where when duty calls them, made their appearance, baffled the playful expectations of the audience, and marched these striking characters to Ennis, where they were liberated on finding bail to keep the peace. They are both well behaved men---but what won't an Irishman do to obtain the laurels. | ||||
