LC1826712NPSLYNCHBridget   John REDDAN, for assaulting Catherine DONOUGHUE.— From representation of the prosecutrix this cause appeared to wear a very aggrivated complexion, the parties reside in the same house, and yet never could live in harmony together. At the late election REDDAN and DONOGHUE came in angry collision, and the latter appeared to have suffered severely from the rencontre, having been dragged down the stairs, as she said, two hands full of hair torn out of her head, and repeatedly kicked outside the door in every part of the body. A witness for the defence swore that previous to the affray, Catherine DONOGHUE flung a key and a knife at the other party, and swore laoudly she would have bloody work before the day would pass over. The Jury were of the opinion, however, that REDDAN was the guilty person, and he was sentenced to be imprisoned for a month and to find bail for his behaviour, himself in 10l. and two surities in 5l. each.

LEP-CS18301217NPSLYNCHJohn While a country woman, named Winifred M'DONNELL, was engaged purchasing some meat at the Northumberland market, Limerick, on Saturday night, a large bag, containing sixty-six yards if linen, quantities of cloth, corduroy, velveteen, and check, was stolen from a car, which she left at the entrance. A few of our active City Police being appraised of the robbery went immediately in pursuit, and succeeded in apprehending the theif—a noted character—named John LYNCH, alias "Boatswain" LYNCH, who was after disposing of his booty to a broker in the Irishtown. The thief and two persons for receiving the stoled goods have been committed for the offence. LYNCH was sentenced to seven years' transportation for a former offence, and but lately returned after fulfilling the mitigated sentence in the Dublin Richmond Penitentiary.

VOLES, Esq. after a fatiguing excursion—His father-in-law, whose name is KEAYS, charged as a principal in the same crime, has likewise been arrested in Dublin, by the exertions of Mr. VOKES—Several persons it appeared claimed an interest in the above mentioned property, for which CLEARY was disputing, and in an affray arrising out of it, the murder was committed, while another man named MADDEN, was so desparately beaten on the same occasion, that he presents a miserable and revolting example of the most savage and barbarous cruelty.
