mobilates is a fully equipped Pilates studio under
the direction of
Liz Cornish, who has over 20 years experience
teaching Pilates, and holds the highest qualification from the Australian
Pilates Method Association.
Using traditional Pilates equipment and contemporary
innovations a unique program is created for each client. Constantly supervised and updated, your
program is adjusted as your body changes.
What is Pilates?
Early last century Joseph Pilates created a series
of exercises that build core strength and restore muscle balance within the
body. Since his initial success in New
York, his technique has been embraced by health and fitness professionals all
over the world.
Core stability is key to good posture and pain free movement. Pilates instructors work with each different
body to create a unique program that strengthens weaker muscles and lengthens
tighter ones. Pilates is low impact,
non aerobic exercise that uses your mind as much as your body. As you progress, your routine will be
adapted under the watchful eye of your instructor.

What to bring
Wear comfortable clothing that
allows easy movement. (T shirt and tracksuit
pants are ideal). In the interests of
hygiene the mobilates studio encourages cotton socks to protect your feet and a
handtowel to place under your head as you move to different pieces of
equipment. Many of the exercises are
performed lying on your back, so try to avoid hairstyles that will make this
uncomfortable (pony tails get in the way but pigtails don’t!). It is a good idea to bring a water
bottle.
For those who have completed a start up package or
equivalent, you can now do supervised studio sessions. Here your instructor continues to develop
your program, adjusting exercises as you develop strength and flexibility. You work at your own pace in the studio
alongside others, under the constant supervision of the instructors. To book studio sessions, all you need to do
is choose your preferred 75 minute timeslot and phone to make an appointment.
