What I drive.
Well, here it is: the beautiful 1997 BMW Z3
Roadster with me in the driver's seat... ahhh. With its sporty 1.9L engine,
wood trim, leather seats, fully electronic soft top and great alloy wheels,
I think I'm really spoilt. Of course I would be even more spoiled if I
actually got to drive the car, instead of just get to sit in it... No,
it isn't mine, but I had you going for a minute or two, didn't I? The truth
is it belongs to someone I work with. No, not at Coles or anything like
that, but at a firm of architects. This piece of precision engineering
(a little plug for BMW
there) belongs to the architect who runs the firm named Allan. You can click on the picture above to see a bigger version (around 130 KB).
No, my car is below. It's a 1995 Daihatsu Charade
Toscana. It's a touched up version of the most basic of all the Charade
models. It's got a pretty small engine (only 1L), groovy interior and a
pretty good stereo. I was saying that it was a cheap car to drive, but
I think that sometimes it feels a little too economical. Although
I can get about 400km from about $20 worth of fuel, it kinda' struggles
going up our hill. Infact, I usually go up it in third gear (after changing
down from fifth) and rev as much as I can to get it back up to 80kph. Oh
well, it's still a pretty good car and it definitely does all that I need
it to do (get me from "A" to "B").
