Where I live.

I live in (arguably) the most beautiful city in the world. The only problem with the place is the government but I won't go into that. The city of Perth has a population of probably about 1.5 million people and hence it is by no means crowded. Infact, the only reason it's such a big city (geographically) is because there's heaps of room in our state (the biggest one in Australia) and people don't like being crowded. The suburbs stretch out for miles and form the look out on one of the main roads near where I live, the lights at night make a stunning picture.

That's the other aspect of talking about where I live. My suburb is a small one called Lesmurdie. It's not in the city, but in the foot hills to the east, nestled amongst bush, scrub and hills. It's a really cool place to live because the crime rate is down to a minimum, the people are friendly and it's a pretty tightly knit community. I have been lucky enough to go to school up here in the hills. Infact, I attended Lesmurdie Primary and then Lesmurdie High schools. Both are within walking distance of our home and hence the journey to school has almost always been a pleasant walk or bike ride. All of that has changed now, though. All due to the fact that (on the day of writing this - Monday the 16th of February, 1998) I got my drivers license. Still, that's another page altogether.

The Festival of Perth has only just started again for this year. This is a festival of dancing and entertainment (mainly shows and concerts) organised by the government and put on once a year for about nine months. This year's production started with a bang in the form of the Perth Theatre Company's production of Titanic. A huge singing, dancing and theatrical extravaganza. Pretty good stuff. If you ever get the chance, go and see this production. Their site is a good place to go to find out more about our fair city.

My house its self is located quite a fair distance away from the road. It's a big property (in comparison with most of the others around) and I have to admit that we've got a pretty big house too. One of my dad's commitments to the place is to the garden and he has performed miracles. He turned our side garden from a weed infested sand box to a beautifully green paradise. He had some help, of course, but most of the work was his. And so it is the fruits of his labor that you see below in the various pictures that I have graciously provided for you.
