Snow Skiing.

Ahhh... the only thing that I can think of that beats the tranquility of scuba diving is skiing. The sheer peaceful exhileration that comes from speeding at full pelt down a 55 degree incline is just something else. All you need to do is point your toes down the hill and let gravity take its course. Of course, there's also the option for your skiing path to get you into some action!

By far the best place that I have been skiing at is Perisher Blue. It's a super resort with enough skiable area to cover 4,400 football fields. That's about 1,250 hectares of snowy terrain to give newcomers comfort or experts excitement. With new areas opened up last year, this resort has become the biggest in the southern hemisphere.

One of the great things about skiing is what you are skiing on. Snow is the best surface for fast moving sports because if you stumble and fall, you don't get hurt. This makes way for some really spectacular stacks which can easily become the highlight of a day's skiing experience. Take one stack I had at Perisher: I was skiing up to a bridge so it follows that I'll have to stay on a path, right? Well guess what I did. I soon found myself flying down the embankment towards a fast flowing and icy cold lake. I managed to just jump the lake, grabbing onto some bushes on the other side to save me from a cold walk back to the lodge to get dry.
