Tuesday 30th

On waking we found the sea rather rough (that is a lot thought so) and in consequence a large number of us were frequent visitors to the ship's side. The fish were having a regular harvest. I was among the number after breakfast, and kept it up nearly all day, however after the first day I have been bonzar. I must make special comment on the food; we all got a pleasant surprise in that direction. The meals are quite a contrast to Blackboy and its everlasting stew. The Menu is varied everyday, and equal to many a bill of fare sold on land. There is a canteen on board, soft drinnks, sweets, smokes etc. are obtainable at sea prices which are below Perth cost.
