Papua New Guinea
is a fascinating land of over 700 languages and associated customs. The
people of the area are very friendly and are keen to show off their culture.
Our last Milne
Bay, PNG tour ran for 12 days visited 3 different types of lodges - an island
lodge, a tree top lodge in the mountains and our base lodge in Town. The
adventure exposed us to flora, fauna and fun! We saw over 74 species of
birds as well as dolphins, flying fish, and a variety of small mammals.
Our next fully
escorted tour will run for two weeks and we will also visit caves, explore
islands and include a stay in a real life village. Detailed
itinerary and costing for next tour to the Milne Bay area of Papua New Guinea is
now available. Please contact tour guide, Stuart Andrews to
register your interest.
YOUR PNG TOUR
NOTES FOR PARTICIPANTS
There are a few items we wish to bring to your attention:
1.
.
-
Those of you travelling from Perth, depending on
your arrival time, we can arrange a brief breakfast tour of Cairns,
prior to making our way to the airport. Please advise us if you
wish to take part in this. The cost will be about $50pp
(additional). There is not much to see or do at Cairns airport so
we are providing this as an optional extra. Some flights arrive in
Cairns very early, giving an ideal opportunity to have a quick look
around Cairns and enjoy a relaxing breakfast before departure.
-
For travel in PNG, a visa is required. If
travelling on an Australian passport, you can purchase this visa on
arrival at Port Moresby, however it is recommended that you obtain
your visa prior to departing Australia. You will be advised of the visa arrangements that will need to be made
prior to travel. The visa on arrival costs 100PGK (Kina) per
person.
-
You can change money at Cairns airport.
-
You must have 6 months or more time left on your
passport. This is 6 months from the date of arrival in PNG.
-
Please complete the booking form attached. One
form per traveller. Please attach a cheque for the deposit of
$500pp,
-
There are a limited number of seats available and
response has been good, so please be prompt.
-
The final payment is required 30 days prior to
departure..
-
There will be a 2% surcharge for credit card
payments. This will be automatically added to each payment if
paying by this method.
-
For those participants in Perth, we will be
arranging a trip briefing closer to the date of departure. We will
notify you of that date in due course.
-
We will be providing you with information on what
you need to take with you, once the bookings and full payments are
finalised. We will also provide a plant and animal/bird list for
you with the most likely things you will see, listed.

We recommend that you embark on a pre-tour
training/exercise regime. As Mike Harvey put it recently, the only
flat ground is at the airport! A reasonable to good degree of
fitness will ensure you have a more enjoyable trip.
