ABOUT BETH

ME

Well hello.. this is my page.. I cannot imagine why anyone would wish to read about me, but here we go anyway... :)
My name is Bethanie and I am eighteen and am currently going to (Murdoch) uni and studying Biomedical Science (with a double major in Molecular Biology). I have one brother named Tim who is 20 and is studying Law at Murdoch Uni.
I went to Applecross SHS, Perth WA, where for all of LowerSchool (Years 8-10) I had an art scholarship which involved me going to school on Saturday mornings to do art courses. The year 12 subjects I did were English Literature, History, Discrete Maths, Biology and Chemistry. In yr 11 I did English Lit., History, Introductory Calculus, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

ART

I like basically any type of art...whatever I feel like doing at the time. At home I do alot of painting and cartooning, but the workshop I enjoyed the most from Special Art was Spraypainting and Aerosol Art (I got to do the lockers at school - YAY!). I also did a Graphics and Technology Design course at Curtin Uni which I had heaps of fun doing, and have since designed the Fremantle Education District logo, and designed my school's Yr 12 Leavers shirts.

MUSIC

I love music and have been playing guitar for about 8 years (since I was 11).
I listen to heaps of music and go to quite afew concerts. Bands I like are Shihad, Millencolin, Superheist, Dogbuoy, Ultimatum, Tool, Game Over, 28 Days, Descendants, Suicidal Tendencies, H2O, 59 Times the Pain, Strung Out, NIN, Karnivool, No Fun At All, Guttermouth, Assorted Jellybeans, Satanic Surfers, Bantha Fodder, The Meanies, Ben Harper, Ammonia, Regurgitator, Korn, Metallica, Red Jezebel, Foo Fighters, Soulfly, Toe to Toe, Veruca Salt, 311, Beaverloop, Grinspoon, The Stems, The Teaparty, Flanders, White Zombie, Pennywise, Radiohead, RATM, Bodyjar, Local H...and many many more!!!!! I don't really have a favourite song, but my more favoured songs would be '4 Degrees' (Tool), 'Disarm' (Smashing Pumpkins), 'Bitter' (Shihad), 'Mozzies' (Dogbuoy), 'Some More Of the Same' (Karnivool) & I'm sure there are others but I can't be bothered thinking of them right now.

SPORT

I like most types of sport but I am really into hockey. I have been playing for about 10 years, through minkey and Juniors, and am now playing Seniors for Melville. I've played everywhere on the field before except goalie but I'm generally a (right) inner.
I like athletics and running and was planning on entering more competitive races this season but I've been too lazy and haven't gotten around to it :)

DRAMA

I have recently joined Bedlam, the Murdoch Uni Theatre Company. I joined because I had done drama in primary and lower-highschool, but then not had enough time to keep doing it, and now I have the opportunity to get back into it. I was initially more interested in backstage; specifically stage design. But despite that I got a part in "Fallen Angels" (Sachem, the Arch-Demon:)) , a production that was performed in late April 2000. So far I've had a lot of fun and I'm planning on getting right back into the whole drama thing.

mIRC

You can often find me on IRC using an oz.org server (like perth.oz.org or mpx.sydney.oz.org) using the nick sHiHaD or Rattie, among others. Channels I go on are #Rattie (my own), and occassionally #willetton, and various music channels.

ANIMALS

I have a pet lorikeet named Lorrie, two axelotls named Sanka and Egbert, and a maron named Monty. I have two female rats name Jezebel and Azrielle. I love and am obsessed with rats and no, they don't smell, don't bite and yes they are extremely intelligent!! I am a member of the RMCA (Rat and Mouse Club of America) and I get a bi-monthly Rat Gazette. I am also a member of WORF (West Oz Rat Fanciers). I think ferrets are really cool and would like to have one, as well as a hedgehog. If I had hedgehog I would call him Alice. (?!)
I go to the zoo quite frequently, and my favourite animals there are the Meerkats (RIP my little 3-legged friend, attacked by the evil beasties), followed closely by the Sun Bears, the otters and the tigers.

MISC.

I love to travel. Rottnest is my second home, and in 1999 I went to London and Seville (Spain) - where I saw the World Athletics Championships. That was amazing and I would love to go back to Seville, as well as many other places.
I like laughing, so my favourite movies would have to be comedies. '10 Things I Hate About You' and 'Mallrats' are among my favourites. I also really like 'The Crow I' and 'Fight Club'.
I don't watch much TV, but I liked 'Monty Python', 'Black Adder', 'Yes (Prime) Minister' and 'Red Dwarf.'
My favourite childhood cartoon was 'Cities of Gold', and I currently love 'Daria'.
I drink alot of Coke (not diet, I can't stand that stuff).
Starburst jellybeans & babies are an essential part of a healthy diet.
My favourite colour is blue.
I love white chocolate, I like milk chocolate, and I dislike dark chocolate.
And lastly, I think I have to recognise the efforts of my most dear pseudo-sibling best friend Alin, in making me the strange person I am today. The blessing of Mr Fatty be with you always my child.
