The Origin of the Quest

After a series of quests that it appeared were only open to individuals, or to a small number of people, it was thought that a more general quest would be of some amusement and personal benefit.  The basis for this quest finds its beginnings at the Shire of Appledore’s "Tournament of the Golden Swan", from where it was happily copied by the Barony of Aneala.

In turn we are quire happy to do the same thing, the result of which is a developed copy of the quest run within Aneala, with some adjustments made to better suit it to the Shire, and the current times. With our version it is hoped that newer people will be able to gain some less material but worthwhile goals to aim at and along the way gain an insight into the SCA, of course if some of the more experienced people rediscover their enthusiasm by their participation as well, then we can all benefit.

Many thanks to those who have gone before in the organising, development, or participation of this quest in the past, and of course to those who may attempt the quest or a variation of it in the future.

The Quest

This Quest is as you might expect open to all and it is intended to test you in a number of areas, success in which is praiseworthy for a noble of our times, and in this Society such behaviour may be expected to set a good example.

<>

So there are fifteen categories in our Quest, to complete this Quest you must succeed in a minimum of Twelve categories, and as you might expect these Twelve must include Courtesy and Etiquette.

Each category will be rated and recorded with a score from 1 to 10, and to succeed you must achieve an average score of 7. It is permitted to enter more than Twelve and petition to only have your best twelve counted. Scores will be considered and determiend by a panel of at least Three peers of the realm, One each from the polling orders.

While you may make as many attempts as you wish to succeed in each category, you will only have one year and one day to complete this Quest which begins on the day you declare your intention to begin, this may be done by announcement on a mailing list or the preferred method of a public announcement at an event.

Please note the standards to succeed are high because this is meant to be a challenge.

Good luck and have fun!                                                                                                                                                                      Question about the Quest
