Lyrical Suggestions

This is the Lyrical Suggestions Page ! Here's a few examples of finding a song for that special occasion. Even if you can't think of the perfect words, maybe someone else already has !

For that someone special, how about some of the words from Glen Frey's Part of Me, Part of You. Go on, check out the rest of the song, there's a great feel to it !

You're a part of me, I'm a part of you
Wherever we may travel
Whatever we go through
Whatever time may take away
It cannot change the way we feel today
So hold me close and say you feel it too
You're a part of me and I'm a part of you...

What if that someone special doesn't realise that you think they're OK as yet ? Maybe the following verse on Valentines day would do the trick ! It's from OMD's Locomotion and has just the right tone for a quasi-anonymous hint to somone !

I can't stand up, I can't stand still
I know you wouldn't like it if I told you how I feel
I just want to say that it's only common sense
But the words always fail me at my own expense
I'm staring out the window, wonder where you are
Moving through the landscape at a million miles an hour...

OK, so maybe things didn't work out so well and you're feeling a bit peeved off to say the least, well lucky you, because there's a Phil Collins song called I Don't Care Anymore that's got your name on it. Get this...

'Cos I remember all the times I tried so hard
And you laughed in my face 'cos you held the cards
I don't care anymore
And I really ain't bothered what you think of me
'Cos all I want of you is just a let me be
I don't care anymore
You hear ? I don't care no more
I don't care what you say
I never did believe you much anyway...

This is part of one of the saddest songs I've heard, and it's probably only good for one particular occasion, but the words are very true. It's Genesis's Never a Time.

It's a long long way to fall
When we both thought we had it all
Well you know it's the time to say
'Cos we're all played out, we've lost our way
Oh, I'd hoped that you would
Be oh so understanding and by now you'd see, but oh no
So sad, so sad, that's the way that it goes
I know, I'm gonna tell you right now...

What about a bit of inspiration, a bit of strength in the face of adversity - there's a Mike & The Mechanics song called Why Me ? that ends like this...

Oh, for now you have the power
The guns and all the swords
But nature has a nasty habit of balancing her flaws
Now you may try to break my body
Lock me up and throw away the key
But you'll never break my spirit
I'm free!

Anyway, I think you get the idea. I hope you will find something in the Meaningful Lyrics Area - either Framed or Unframed, that expresses your feelings, good or bad ! I also hope you take the time to really listen to the words of these songs when you next hear them. Enjoy...
