Having graduated from Australian National University Forestry in 1975, David Wettenhall is Australia’s first Registered Professional Forester, recognising a high level of expertise and up to date qualifications and experience as a general practicing forester.  This includes skills, knowledge and experience in plantation establishment and management, forest policy, forest inventory/valuation, trees on farms, codes of practice (WA), harvest planning, project evaluation and management and environmental management systems.  These skills are valuable regional assets as the Blue Gum plantations in the Great Southern approach harvesting age. 

He is a member of the following organisations:

PLANTALL Forestry Consultants are based in the City of Albany on the south coast of Western Australia.

Albany has a population of 30,000 people and is located 400 kilometres south east of Perth. Albany is the largest population centre in the Great Southern and South Coast Regions of Western Australia.

Blue Gum plantations were planted in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia from the 1990's on. In 2001 there were approximately 130,000 hectares of hardwood plantations in the region.
