CHILLI CON CARNE

With thanks to Len Deighton

1. Fry one onion and when brown add:

1 green or red small hot chilli, chopped small,
or
a pea-sized shot of hot pepper sauce, i.e. tabasco
or
2 teaspoons chilli powder
or
1 teaspoon paprika and a trace of cayenne.

also add:
1 teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon oregano
1 lb chopped, skinned tomatoes.

2. Add 1½ lbs ground beef.

Cook over medium heat

Add a can of red kidney beans.

Heat and serve with corn chips, rice or whatever.
