SPICY APPLE PIE

1 tablespon allspice
1 dessertspoon cinnamon
2 cups self raising flour
Pinch of salt
1 cup brown sugar
4 oz butter
1 egg
Milk to moisten, if necessary

Cream butter and sugar, add the egg and sifted dry ingredients

Line a piedish with 2/3 of the pastry
Fill with lemon-flavoured stewed apple and cover with the remaining pastry.

Bake in a moderately hot oven for 10 minutes and a moderately cool oven for a further 20 minutes.
