Since it was the Brits which invented the game, their version sets the standard for the format. The set design has been replicated by every version around the world (albeit to varying degrees). Starting off with nightly, half-hourly shows over short seasons - ITV eventually scheduled it with three hourly shows on a weekly basis. This year (2003) has seen it reduced to a once-weekly program, as popularity has waned.

Chris Tarrant - arguably one of the best Millionaire hosts of all, has a history in British broadcasting circles in both radio and television. Certainly one of the most contestant-friendly hosts to be found out there (in my opinion).
