Hand Wash: In luke warm water and mild detergent such
as "SOFTLY" or similar as approved by the Australian Wool Corporation
for wool
Machine Wash: The machine should be set as for wool.
If the seat cover is very dirty, it is better to give TWO short washes rather
than ONE long wash. Rinse well, hand squeeze or give a short spin, shake
or pull creases out so that the skin is in its natural shape.
Hang to Dry: Do not dry in the direct sunlight or
in front of direct heat. Shake seat covers vigorously several times during
trying to keep rug soft. When completely dry work in the leather side of
the skin between the hands to restore softness, comb the wool with a wide
toothed cob, or brush with a stiff bristled brush to restore the fluffy
appearance.
May be Dry Cleaned: If you repeatedly have your seat
covers dry cleaned, it will tend to lose its softness. Dry cleaners specialising
in suedes and leathers generally have the means of retexturing, so that
loss of softness is reduced.
