Calendar There is a commonly accepted calendar throughout the world of Elaria. Divided into ten months over the four cycles of the moon that occur. The months may be broken down by their season, each season lasting for two and half months. Obviously, in different sections of the world, the seasons will occur at different times but for simplicity's sake, this calendar is based upon the area of the Great North Forest.

Each month lasts for 40 days, each season then lasting 100 days (2.5 months) and the year lasting a total of 400 days. However, the last 2 days of Suns Smiling and the first 2 of Mornings Brighten are actually removed to create a time that is of no month. These four days are called The Renewal, and regarded as a time for reflection, celebration and dedication. Most cultures hold these four days as a kind of long celebration, often with feasts for hundreds of people.
Each month of 40 days is broken down into 5 weeks of 8 days. These days are as follows:
The days have no particular significance in their allocation. Because Windsday is called so, it obviously does not mean it is always windy. The days are called after the elements, the sun, moon and harvest as a sign of respect and reverence. There is no day regarded generally as a holiday common to all races. In some cultures there is a day or two allocated as a rest period, but essentially, it is up to the individual.
Money
The monetary units of Elaria revolve around 4 different coins, each stamped with the likeness of the current or past ruler of the area. The coins are all fashioned to the same weight and size and thus the same value. The four coins are Gold, Silver, Electrum and Copper. Gold being the most valuable and Copper being the least. The equations below give an indication of the rate of value between one coin and another.
1 Gold = 20 Silver = 200 Electrum = 1000 Copper
1 Silver = 10 Electrum = 50 Copper
1 Electrum = 5 Copper
Electrum coins have for some reason been nicknamed "Luckies" most likely due to the difficulty of continuously pronouncing "Electrum".
The value of goods throughout Elaria can change immensely, but as a rough guide, a few items and reasonable prices for them have been listed below.
| Flagon of cheap ale | 2 copper |
| A decent meal | 2 luckies |
| Well woven woollen cloak | 4 silver |
| A finely crafted steel sword | 3 gold |
Obviously prices will depend on availability, quality and will be up to the individual vendor.
It may also be noted that gold is quite valuable. This is due to the simple reason that it is reasonably scarce. Not to the degree that someone holding a piece of gold is to be marvelled at, but enough that people would be impressed at someone producing gold coins.
