| Recovering grain losses over the cutter-bar The lighter the crop density, the greater the loss potential for crops over the cutter-bar during harvesting. This has been a problem faced every harvest by farmers in Australia for decades. The two finger knife guard had no way of preventing crops falling forward when cut and being unrecoverable. Even with batt reels, blowers and several other devices, crops were still regularly falling over or between the two finger guards, resulting in yield loses of up to 40% in some crops. | ![]() |
