Locate Target

Tool: Nail Clippings, hair, or blood of the target
Weaving Difficulty: 11 / 20
Duration: 1 round

This is a ritual spell. The number of threads (at one hour each) determines the range of the spell. This spell requires a bit of the target, such as nail clippings, a bit of hair, a drop of blood, etc. If cast successfully, the caster gets a direction and distance to locate the target within one tenth of a mile. The caster also gets an image of the target. If the casting fails, the caster has no idea if the target was in range or not, nor of the target's location.

If the target of this spell or someone around them makes an Astral Perception test of 10 or greater, or a normal perception test of 18 or better while the threads are being woven, they are aware that magic is being directed towards them.

The range is based on the number of threads woven, each taking one hour:

The spell requires the caster to successfully weave one thread per target of the spell. The target must pay one strain per round that the spell is active; however, the target may give up the protection of the spell at any time.

This spell increases the target's Spell and Physical Defense by +3 against Horrors and Horror Constructs only.
