The talent description does not specify whether the character must spend an
action to look at the target for a whole round and then use the Frighten
talent the next round, or whether looking at the target can be a
non-action. We decided that looking at the target was a non-action. So
the talent still has a one round delay on it, but the character can perform
another action while he is looking at the target (as long as that action
does not require him to look elsewhere).
This talent cannot normally be used to claim the +rank bonus when already
engaged in melee combat. Otherwise the character can stand there jumping
up and down on the spot and getting +rank for no reason at all. A valid
use would be to Lizard Leap out of combat, say into a nearby tree, and then
Lizard Leap back into combat next round and get the +rank.
We decided to reduce the effectiveness of Taunt by ruling that it lasts for
success level rounds rather than rank rounds. An Average success lasts
for the remainder of the round in which it was used and all of the next
round. A Good success lasts for the next two rounds, and so on.
Note that this talent requires physical tracks to be used. It cannot be
used to find the physical tracks. Normally there would not be much of a
problem in finding tracks, and if necessary roll a perception check for
the character. The tracking skill can be used to find tracks.
