Spell Defence: 19 This crystal broadsword was forged by Tivar Surehand ("Lefthand"), a human
weaponsmith from Elenvale in the West Plains (Currently known as The Wastes).
It has passed to his son Neivar and his grandson Olvar. It has several powers
and it holds many secrets of the Wastes.

Sword of Visions

Key Knowledge: The wielder must learn the Name of the sword and its creator.
Effect: Damage STR+7.
Key Knowledge: The wielder must learn the Name of the troll weaponsmith that
taught Tivar the art of crystal smithing. (MARDIN FIREBREATHER)
Effect: Damage STR+8. The wielder gains the Trollmight ability - for 2 points
of Strain the wielder can cause extra damage; add 3 more steps to the
damage test for Rank blows.
Deed: The wielder must venture to the trollmoot and pledge an Oath of Blood
Peace with its leader. The blood sacrifice is 2 points of permanent
damage, and it must include the burning away of a part of the wielder's
body (a finger, a thumb, an eye, an ear etc.) with hot lava. This deed
is worth 1,300 legend points.
Effect: The sword glows with bright light. All enemies recieve -1 to all their
steps. All friendly characters recieve +1 to all their steps. This
is in effect for Rank rounds, and the wielder takes 2 Strain.
Effect: Damage STR+9.
Effect: Trollmight now adds 5 steps to the damage test.
Key Knowledge: The wielder must learn the Name of the tribe of nomads that
Neivar drew off from Elenvale using the sword during the
Wanderer Wars that took place there before the scourge.
Effect: The wielder gains the Sight of Crystal ability. By paying 1 Strain,
the wielder can ignore all mist, twilight, dust and fog effects on
his vision. This lasts for Rank rounds. Moreover, for paying 4 Strain AND 1 permanent damage point, the sword
can be made to show a place like it was before the Scourge itself.
This last for Rank hours, and requires that the wielder make a PER
test vs. a difficulty number of 12.
Deed: The wielder must slay a creature that menaces a settlement or a town.
This deed earns no legend points but the creature's legend points.
If a horror construct or a horror is slain, the deed is worth 1,300
legend points. If the Black Deceiver is slain, the deed is worth 3,400
legend points.
Effect: Damage STR+10. The sword can Dispel Magic at wielder's WIL-2, and
it dispels magical wards (not guardians!) at wielder's WIL.
If a horror is slain as the deed, add 2 ranks to the test, and if
The Black Deceiver is slain - add 3 more ranks, to a total of +5.)
This use of the sword costs 2 points of damage, that can't be healed
for a year and a day.
