Commentary

Cave squigs have a ball shaped body three to four feet across, with powerful hind legs and short, almost useless front lets. The front half of their body is a large mouth, above which sits a quivering button nose, and small beady eyes. Their hide is slippery, and ranges from green to blue to brown.

Cave squigs are organised into herds, and are very aggressive towards others, and fight among themselves also. The move by bouncing on their powerful stubby legs, and can cross gaps up to 10 yards across, and half that height up. Although aggressive, they do not concentrate their attacks, and usually bounce from on opponent to another before bouncing away and never returning.

Cave squigs attack with their oversized mouths, ripping out huge chunks of flesh, and then bounding away before they can be followed.

The can be controlled to some extent by Beastmasters, and sometimes are captured and given control collars by the Sectoids. Orc beastmasters like cave squigs.
