I took up woodturning in '95 whilst still working as a full time jeweller. I started off making ring boxes for the trade, but soon took up making bowls as well. Since Aug '99 I started to concentrate more or less full time on the woodturning. All of the timber I use has been salvaged, from one source or another. I hate to waste anything. I regard so called flaws in timber as areas of extra interest, being reminders of the hard times endured by these once living trees.
My work is exhibited in several WA shops and galleries. This site exists primarily to display and sell the work I have been doing in wood, but I am also taking the opportunity to display some of the jewellery I have made, along with some of my graphic and photographic output. I originally trained in Graphic design, but for over 20 years now I have been working in jewellery. |
