My Favourite National Parks

Koscuiszko National Park

These are photos of various locations within Koscuiszko National Park, perhaps Australia's most famous park and the largest in New South Wales (NSW). Located south of Canberra and in the southeast of NSW, it covers an enormous area and takes in the Snowy Mountains including Mt Koscuiszko (2228 metres) Australia's highest peak. It encompasses both spectactcular mountain scenery, ski resorts and the Snowy Mountains Scheme, an enormous water diverting and hydro electric engineering scheme.

Koscuiszko NP is also a great region for trout fishing and unlimited oportunities exist for exploring and bushwalking. The park is part of the Australian Alps group of national parks. Click here for more information on Koscuiszko National Park. from the NSW Parks Service
