It seems beyond belief that after an intensive scientific debate which resulted in a decision against the proposed use of RCD as a biological control agent in New Zealand, the RCD disease has found its way to the South Island.What is the likelihood of a person having smuggled a dead rabbit all the way from Australia and how difficult would this be? How much easier would it have been to smuggle in a vial of the deadly live virus (available from Australian authorities) and spread it around in New Zealand? Who is involved in this latest episode in the RCD conspiracy?

Perhaps,criminal activities have been engaged in by those at the highest levels in certain organisations who were disappointed that the New Zealand Ministry of Health and New Zealand Federation of Scientists, amongst others, had found that there was too much risk involved in spreading a deadly hemorrhagic virus of mammals (RCD) for which there is no cure and no safe vaccines to protect any species other than rabbits.

Didn't Australia lose face when New Zealand said "No" to RCD/RHD after Australian authorities had said "Yes"?

Who may have participated in the illegal movement of the deadly live RHD/RCD virus across a huge expanse of ocean from Australia to New Zealand ? How much money changed hands and in which direction?

Whoever is responsible has breached moral, ethical,scientific and legal protocols accepted as law by both Australia and New Zealand.

A thorough investigation should be held in both Australia and New Zealand to find out who the criminals were who allowed the export of the deadly RCD/RHD virus from Australia to New Zealand.
