Dear All
Delighted to see the interest in raising consciousness about animal protection within the churches.
For your information, there are two websites:
For Catholics:
For Anglicans/Episcopalians:
Incidentally, I am a theologian who holds the world's first post in Theology and Animals at Blackfriars Hall, University of Oxford.
My books include: Animal Theology (SCM Press, UK; University of Illinois Press, US) Animal Gospel (Hodder and Stoughton, UK; Westminster/John Knox Press, US) Animal Rites: Liturgies of Animal Care (SCM Press, UK; Pilgrim Press - to be published in the Fall in the US).
I am happy to answer specific queries or give advice. Generally, the position is that all churches are insensitive to animals and their theology is in need of refreshment!
I am always impressed to hear of other people's fine work in the front line against cruelty.
I congratulate you all on your work and wish you well.
