I've done quite a bit of flying over the years and have heard lots of stories about flight crew humour, but never experienced it personally. However our Virgin flight to Adelaide last weekend was treated to a stand-up performance that would be quite at home in any comedy club, masquerading as an in-flight safety demonstration! Some of the pearlers she delivered were:
When we finally stopped giggling, we found ourselves in Adelaide for the weekend. After some afternoon urban exploration, dinner at the Greedy Goose was on the agenda. This classy winner of the My Restaurant Rules competition lived up to its reputation. The service was impeccable, the food was simply stunning and the company was grand; Definitely worth a trip to Adelaide to sample their fine fare!
After the goose we left the city, trekking up to David's place in Murray Bridge; David kindly hosted us for the weekend and his place was the perfect base for our weekend explorations. On Saturday, we visited the picturesque Hahndorf with its Germanic influences, then headed up Mt Lofty for a birds eye, if somewhat misty, view of the city. A chocolate factory beckoned shortly thereafter before a quiet evening in front of the telly at Dave's watching Galaxy Quest.
Sunday it was down to Milang for lunch with friends of Gareth and Ady's before a quick crossing of the Hindmarsh Island bridge to see what all the fuss was about a few years back, then coffee and cake at Victor Harbour before retiring to Dave's once again. Sunday night was our last evening and David's friend Gina dropped around for a visit. Lots of laughs were had.
As a final note, I'd like to thank David particularly for hosting us. We'll be back, if you can put up with us!
Now, watch this space. Later this week, it's Sydney again and Melbourne next week for Southern Hibearnation. YAY!
Cheers, Rob :P
