Our name comes from a desire to dance together with enthusiasm, joy and creativity. We believe our tribe is an independent, growing, evolving being which takes on a life of its own. Just like the glass on a ouija board, our direction is dependent on all our members input, not just our teachers.

A diverse group of women makeup Tribalive! We feel that we can, not just accommodate, but embrace all abilities, ages and body types. Some of our members have been dancing for up to 10 years with varying experience with other styles and tribes in Perth. Some of us have only been dancing for a few months!
We dance about 95% American Tribal Style (ATS) and about 5% Tribalive! All of us just adore Carolena Nericcio's work, Fat Chance Belly Dance and Devyani Bellydance. We strive to stay true to the ATS format as laid out by Carolena and generally use ATS moves.
Tribalive! Also believes that the actual ATS dance form is alive and evolving. As such, we like to allow ourselves a little space with in the ATS format to create new moves and formations and also vary existing moves. We never seek to change moves just for the sake of it, but sometimes a move just comes to us and our bodies differently... so we don't fight it. Just like a real tribe, Tribalive! has its own accent!
We dance at the Sheik to Sheik Bellydance Studio in Hamilton Hill, Western Australia every Monday night. ( sometimes more for rehearsals for specific gigs.) We are taught by Amy. If you are interested in joining us for a dance, you're most welcome. Please visit our Classes page for more information.
Tribalive! has been known on more than on occasion to cohort with the wonderful women who are Free Spirit Gypsy Tribal. They are a Gypsy Caravan styled group lead by Ayesha and they also dance from the Sheik to Sheik studio. We regularly perform together and indeed share some of the same members.

We have recently returned from a little east coast 'tour' which included workshops in Katoomba with Carolena and the Tribal and Trance Festival the following weekend in Sydney (with lots of dancing, eating, drinking and nattering in between).
Three of our Tribalive! members (Betsy, Peta and Amy) danced their hearts out and completed three days of intensive workshops with Carolena in Katoomba. We received the FCBD General Skillings Certification and also met lots of wonderful women!
Still aching from these workshops we trundled down to Sydney for the Tribal and Trance Fest and met up with a few more WA girls - about 12 of them! We had a ball attending workshops, shopping and watching performances and generally letting our hair down. We look forward to sharing everything we learned with our fellow tribe members and students!
Tribalive! looks forward to bringing you fun... dance classes and classy dances!
