JOHN ELDRIDGE 1823-????

John George Eldridge is shown as a bachelor mason, son of Daniel Eldridge a timber merchant on his 1852 marriage to Sarah Woodman.

They are thought to be the John Eldridge shown in the 1851 census as a journeyman bricklayer aged 28 with his wife Sarah age 21, both born Reigate, Surrey both as lodgers in a household at Folkestone, Kent, England. In the 1861 census at Reigate John is shown aged 34 born Brighton, Sussex and Sarah aged 35 born Reigate with three children all born Reigate. John is now shown as a stone mason. The 1871 Reigate census shows Sarah as a widow aged 40 born Red Hill, Surrey with her three youngest children.
