Warner Hill was born at Fakenham, Norfolk, England the son of Robert, a hairdresser and Ann Hill. He married on 31 Mar 1857 at St Peters Pimlico, London, England to Susan Lewis. She was born at Ardleigh, Essex the daughter of Joseph and Ann Lewis. They migrated to Victoria, Australia on the Dione leaving Liverpool in Nov 1858 and they arrived in Apr 1859. The passenger list shows Warner as a saddler aged 24, Susan his wife aged 23 and Maria an infant suggesting Warner and his wife may have altered their ages to meet migration requirements.
Their son Robert Warner was born at Newstead VIC and following his death in 1863 they had another son at Newstead who they also named Robert Warner. He was born on 18 Oct 1866 and Warner showed his age as 32 and Susannah as 29. They later moved to Narrandera, New South Wales where Maria and Robert both married.
Robert Warner died in a tragic dray accident at Brobenah on 11 Feb 1901 with the incident being reported in the Narrandera Argus of Friday 15 Feb 1901.
Warner was a saddler and farmer and he died on 11 Feb 1902 at Colinroobie NSW and he was shown aged 79. Susannah died in the Narrandera Hospital on 3 Jul 1902 and they are both buried in the Church of England Cemetery, Narrandera.
