Robe River 4002 was built as number 4002 for New South Wales Railways by Montreal Locomotive works in 1951. 4002 ran over 2,000,000 mlies before it was retired in 1971. A highlight of it;\'s original career was hauling the royal train during Queen Elisabeth the Second's 1954 tour of Australia. Locomotive 4002 and it's class mate 4006 were purchased by Robe River in 1971 as shunters.
