Hardabut Rapid, Murchison River @ 10.1m at Emu Springs
September, 2008

Photos: Robyn Khorshid
Some pics of this mega rapid with very little water, but enough to make an impressive sight. It's about one kilometre in length, up to 250m wide and drops about 15m. The pics just show a small section of this massive flood level rapid.

Looking upstream at the start of the rapid.
One of the first big drops - house size boulders
Looking downstream - a sea of rocks. Horizon line idicates how much lower is the end of the rapid.
A double drop - about 3-4 metres.
Looking upstream, about two-thirds of the way down.

Looking downstream from same vantage point - the end of the rapid is down there somewhere.
