FUN SLALOM DAY
Come
and see what you can get up to in a kayak!
For all skill levels, all ages, all paddlers.
This is an
invitation to everyone with an interest in paddling!
Boats and gear provided (or bring your own). You'll need a towel,
change of clothing and footwear.
Venue: Swan
Canoe Club, Johnson Parade, Mosman Park (right near Mead's Restaurant)

SWAN
RIVER CLASSIC PADDLE
Coming up, 22nd October. Paddle 12 km from Perth to Freo with
"afters" at the Left Bank Hotel. This is quite a spectacular
event with over 650 competitors last year in all kinds of craft:
skis, canoes, kayaks, outrigger, malibu boards,etc. Full details

There's a plus
for clubs in that they have a chance to win a surf ski donated
by Spirit. The more entries then the greater the chance YOUR
club can win. There's one for canoe clubs and one for surf clubs.

You can also go rafting on the middle Murray, in single person
or eight person rafts. They have put together some adventure

SWIFT WATER RESCUE COURSES
Peter White of Dwellingup Adventures, a "Swift Water Rescue
3" Instructor, will be conducting rescue courses in 2001.
Dates and costs are to be announced, but keep it in mind for
next year! He also has access to a top quality American range
of white water rescue gear (including throw bags) which is only
available through him. Ph 9538 1127 for enquiries.

BY THE LIGHT . . . OF THE SILVERY MOON:
11th
& 12th November
Just added to my netsite are details of the Hawkesbury Canoe
Classic, 111 kilometre (mainly) night paddle, held as close as
possible to the night of the full moon, in October- November
each year from Windsor to Brooklyn (Sydney environs). Click

No, not just down the road, it's the Murray River in Victoria.
27th December, 2000. Held over several days. Details also

get-together to honour our high achieving paddlers at the state
level.

Closing date is 7th October. You must book - no tickets at the
door.
