BRIDGETOWN WATER LEVEL
On Saturday local Bridgetown paddler, Mick Dewing and chief organiser Peter Morgan checked out the course for next weekend's State Downriver Championships. They found it easy to pick a smooth line down suitable for kevlar boats. The level was 11.45 m on the wooden gauge under the bridge and 11.23 on the telemetred gauge. Bridgetown recently had a telemetred gauge installed 20 m downstream of the bridge and you can read the level (& others) at: http://www.wrc.wa.gov.au/waterinf/telem/table.htm  Just click on the number of the station that you want for the graph of the water level for the last six days. (Remember: 10m = no flow)

SKYVIEW WA
I believe the link to Skyview WA included in the last email did not work - to view the Avon and Murray River rapids via aerial photography go to the main page of the Department of Land Administration
http://www.dola.wa.gov.au
and follow the link "Products & Services" which eventually takes you to aerial photography and Skyview WA. It is slow to download on smaller, older computers (and is not designed to work on Macs), but patience will be rewarded.

WALYUNGA WATER LEVEL
When reading the wooden gauge at Walyunga make sure you refer to the upstream side of the post. (Not sure what the downstream side is - but it's different.) Thanks to the paddlers who've sent in the level recently for the website.
http://www.iinet.net.au/~rokhor/canoe/waterlev99waly.html
The post seems to have moved this season (could it be falling over?). Wonder if it needs some maintenance.

RADAR OF RAINFALL
Favourite website of one Avon Descenter was the weather bureau's radar of the rain the weekend before the Descent. The radar covers a radius of 128 km from the metro area, hence you could 'see' the rain falling on Northam etc. Wait till Wednesday (next forecast rain) then click on Perth 'loop' on the list at the following URL:
http://mirror.bom.gov.au/weather/radar/
